We envisioned the perfect designer for eJump and outlined the main things we look for. You need talent, skill and a playful spark of creativity. Moreover, you need to say a convinced YES to all of the following. Are you a true eJumper?

Tasks ideal eJumper Designers tackle day in, day out:
    • Advise the client, ask questions and explain new terms.
    • Offer examples in order to create the brief in close collaboration with the client.
    • Communicate with the team leader and/or the final client to agree upon the tasks, the brief and the timeline.
    • Create and/or modify marketing visual materials in Photoshop and Illustrator (e.g. logos, website layouts).
    • Coordinate their work with the coding team.
    • Find their place in the team and respect our very few, but basic rules (accurately fill in the time sheet and take into account the flexible, but disciplined eJump work schedule).
    • Join the internal group tasks, meetings and events. Some of these might be technical (like developing web design standards for the entire team), while some others might be non-technical (like organizing outings with the team, various internal and external events, getting involved in recruiting, marketing and administrative activities when necessary).
    • Support the growth and learning process of junior team mates.

The performance evaluation process for our Web Designers is fair and simple: we look at both technical (hard) skills and soft skills, specific for their role and level (junior, senior). There is always a focus on how the values of eJump are reflected in their behavior towards the clients and the colleagues in our team, as well as on their genuine interest in becoming better at what they do (and of course, at the corresponding effort associated with this).
From a technical perspective, great Web Designers (just like ours):
    • Are highly skilled in:
      • Adobe Photoshop
      • Adobe Illustrator

      • Are grateful – appreciate the support they receive, the opportunities presented to them and manifest their gratitude at least by a simple but heartfelt „Thank you!”.
      • Remain civilized in high-pressure situations (tight deadline, unsatisfied client, divergent opinions in the team), express their opinion in a calm manner and are patient enough to hear out the other person.  It’s a given that everyone at eJump can continue work without strong emotional outbreaks.

Our ideal Web Designers also display a genuine self-development desire and act accordingly. It’s expected of them to frequently ask for feedback and make an effort to become better, as well as be kind enough to offer it to their colleagues as well.

There is always a focus on how the values of eJump are reflected in their behavior towards the clients and the colleagues in our team, as well as on their genuine interest in becoming better at what they do (and of course, at the corresponding effort associated with this). Their leadership performance is crucial, so we always make sure our ideal Project Managers do a great job at the following:

  • Bogdan & Radu

No need to define ideal profiles four our management team, as Bogdan and Radu are already ideal :P. Well, not yet, there’s always room for improvement, but they’re already doing a great job and enthusiastically work on continuously developing themselves and the team, so we’re all looking forward to the next jumps. Meanwhile, we enjoy having them around

Being an awesome eJumper while inspiring others to join your jumps takes a constant and diverse effort, which explains all the roles Bogdan and Radu have – both being active in each of them in a quite balanced manner (the difference being a stronger focus for Bogdan on client management and marketing topics and a stronger focus for Radu on technical and admin aspects):
    • Strategy wizards
        • Define and re-define the strategy and continuously adjust the mission and values.
        • Communicate the mission and values to the team, monitor and shape the organizational culture.
        • Know latest trends, search for new opportunities, clients, channels and markets.
        • Monitor and adjust our promise to and interaction with the clients.
    • Leaders and leadership promoters
        • Dedicate time to reflect on their behavior and to learn how to become better leaders
        • Engage in frequent and honest conversations about their leadership styles with the eJumpers
        • Act as role models for other eJump leaders, doing everything that is expected of them whenever they have the chance and coaching them all along:

          • Keep all involved informed about the status of the projects they handle.
          • Structure their project wisely and assign certain tasks and deadlines to their team members, taking into consideration their expertise, experience and preferences.
          • Monitor the timeline of the project to make sure deadlines are met and extra-hours are prevented.
          • Monitor all deliverables sent to the client to make sure we deliver what we promise and that no bug escapes our wonderful office.

        • Keep them happy, while creating the perfect set-up for them to become better.
    • Financial masterminds
        • This one is straightforward: Make sure there’s enough money/ capital coming in to exceed what’s going out and what gets invested in our next jumps.
    • Brand managers and client seducers
        • Ensure eJump brand is getting stronger day by day.
        • Be where our next clients are, proving them a collaboration is mutually beneficial.
    • Daily guardians of our business core and all supporting activities
      • Act as interface between clients and the team, attending strategic meetings and participating in key decisions.

      • Manage projects or sub-projects, when needed.
      • Take care of all administrative aspects, making sure they run smoothly.

Read more about Bogdan & Radu here. When it comes to evaluation, Bogdan & Radu are most importantly evaluated by the market ☺ (and we’ve been growing in the past years) and then by all eJumpers, taking into account same criteria used for Team Leaders. There is always a focus on how the values of eJump are reflected in their behavior towards the clients and all of us, as well as on their genuine interest in becoming better (and of course, at the corresponding effort associated with this). Their leadership performance is crucial, so we look at if and how Bogdan and Radu:
    • Deliver the promised result in the agreed timeframe.
    • Optimally allocate people and time on the project, after defining its subcomponents
    • Obtain an alignment between the client, the management and team through frequent and honest communication with everyone involved. This includes conflict management, if the case.
    • Communicate honestly and frequently with the team about expectations, desired performance and results.

    • Respect
    • Passion
    • Honest and frequent communication

Last, but not least, we want them to display a genuine self-development desire and act accordingly, serving as a role model for us. It’s expected of them to frequently ask for feedback and make an effort to become better, as well as be kind enough to offer frequent feedback to all of us as well.
  • Storyteller

Out storyteller is a rare mix of a client management genie, a marketing wizard and a team magician. If you love telling fabulous stories, are great with people and have a sparkling personality with a heavy dose of discipline, we want to meet you. Will you dare?

Here’s what our ideal Storyteller manages to be (and do ☺) every day:
    • A client management genie
      • Connects directly with the client through frequent emails and is able to cover both technical aspects and the lovely small talk.
      • Acts as “the glue” between the designers, coders, Radu, Bogdan and our clients, keeping everyone in the loop and connected.
      • Establishes the workflow with each client and makes sure that the initial agreements are respected.
      • Organizes, details and monitors completion of tasks in Asana (one of the client management tools we use).
      • Makes sure everyone knows what is happening and that there’s enough transparency in communication. He/she raises the alarm if there’s something about to go wrong (unsatisfied customer or an annoyingly close deadline).

    • A marketing wizard
      • Shapes the eJump image in the world:
        • Manages our social media profiles (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Through research, observation and sparks of creativity, he/she develops new content and posts it frequently so we can keep our followers engaged and the conversation flowing.
        • Manages the eJump website and continuously develops content, gathers testimonials and adds new portfolio items.
      • Guards our internal knowledge: he/she is sort of like an alchemist who guards the best secrets of the world – our guidelines, our internal databases etc. (in a very clearly and structured manner).
      • Seduces new clients:
        • Does research about potentially new clients.
        • Develops or coordinates the development of marketing materials (templates, approach emails, brochures and the like).

    • A team magician
        • Shapes the eJump culture, keeping us united and accurately fill in:
          • Is the go-to buddy for new employees and offers them support.
          • Organizes and manages team events.
          • Overlooks general behaviors, praising the ones in line with our values and proposing solutions to correct/ eliminate those that are not.
          • Supports the recruiting process.
          • Coordinates the performance evaluation process.

In order to maintain happy clients and a peaceful and productive work environment, the perfect Storyteller is: Team oriented, which means they display our values towards the team:
    • Respect:
      • Maintain a general welcoming and inspirational work environment, which encourages learning and an entrepreneurial spirit (e.g. Listen to new ideas voiced by colleagues and evaluate them in an objective manner, limit their biases and do not encourage aggressive, uncivilized behavior).
    • Passion:
      • Are enthusiastic about the domain in which they work and have an inner motivation to know more. They are on top of the latest trends and news in the field and generously share them with all interested colleagues.
    • Honest and frequent communication:
      • Are transparent regarding their work and willing to communicate with the others if and as soon as something is not right. And they usually pair it with suggested solutions or improvement ideas.

Client oriented, which means they display our values towards the client:
    • Respect:
      • Deliver services of great quality, every time.
      • Manifest flexibility toward the requirements of the clients or colleagues – are open to understand the proposals of the clients/colleagues and to integrate their observations, if they are feasible.
      • Are prompt with their answers – respond as fast as possible to the requests of the clients or team mates and make efforts to respond in time. Do not postpone interactions without a very good reason.
    • Passion:
      • Offer simple and diverse solutions and do their best to surpass the expectations of the clients/team mates they work with.  Aim to get a heartfelt “wow” through what they deliver and don’t do only “what is asked” from them but a tad more. Over-deliver, when possible.  Counsel the client or other colleagues to support them in choosing the optimal solutions.
    • Honest and frequent communication:
      • Engage in clear and transparent communication with the client or colleagues about the status of projects, the problems that arise and the solutions proposed by our company or by the clients (i.e. accurately update the status of the projects in Asana – the internal management tool – that the client is also able to access at any time).

  • Client Happiness Manager (Tester)

Client happiness is one of the most important things at eJump so, naturally, we want dedicated team members to make sure our clients will always be happy with what we deliver. So you have a critical eye, some imagination and are super detail oriented? You might be the perfect Client Happiness Manager (Tester).

On a perfect day, our perfect eJump Client Happiness Managers (Testers):
    • Are „virtual clients” – the embodiment of all the eJump clients – and their main task is to understand their needs and make sure they are fulfilled. They represent the voice of the clients and verify that every solution we send is in line with the expectations and needs expressed by the companies we work with.
    • Are less concerned with the technical aspects (our ideal web designers and coders already make sure they are perfectly covered) and more with answering this question, on behalf of each client: “Will the solution eJump found be able to solve my problem in an optimal manner?”
    • Test all of our final pages on all devices (iPad, iPhone, Android phone/ tablet etc.) and all browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
    • Develop manuals/ tutorials for websites, if requested by our clients.
    • Ultimately, make sure we always deliver high quality and complete solutions.
The performance evaluation process for our Client Happiness Managers is fair and simple: we look at both technical (hard) skills and soft skills specific for this role. There is always a focus on how the values of eJump are reflected in their behavior towards the clients and the colleagues in our team, as well as on their genuine interest in becoming better at what they do (and of course, at the corresponding effort associated with this).
From a technical perspective, great Client Happiness Managers (just like ours):
    • Have basic knowledge of:
      • HTML
      • CSS
      • JavaScript
    • Have advanced knowledge of UI / UX
    • Are analytical and structured in their thinking
    • Pay extraordinary attention to detail
    • Have great communication skills
    • Display outstanding organizational skills in their work, especially when it comes to:
      • Estimation accuracy for their tasks
      • Working speed
      • Documentation of their work

In order to maintain happy clients and a peaceful and productive work environment, the perfect Client Happiness Managers (Testers) are:  Team oriented, which means they display our values towards the team:
    • Respect
      • Maintain a general welcoming and inspirational work environment, which encourages learning and an entrepreneurial spirit (e.g. Listen to new ideas voiced by colleagues and evaluate them in an objective manner, limit their biases and do not encourage aggressive, uncivilized behavior).
    • Passion
      • Are enthusiastic about the domain in which they work and have an inner motivation to know more. They are on top of the latest trends and news in the field and generously share them with all interested colleagues.
    • Honest and frequent communication

Our ideal Client Happiness Managers (Testers) also display a genuine self-development desire and act accordingly. It’s expected of them to frequently ask for feedback and make an effort to become better, as well as be kind enough to offer it to their colleagues as well.

What we hope is already obvious is our care for our people. We know that even cosmic jumps are performed by regular guys capable of extraordinary achievements when given the proper environment and support.

Our entire business culture is based on the values we promote (respect, passion, honest and frequent communication) and on our two-fold focus: toward our clients and toward our team.

Far from being empty words, these values are the pillars of our evaluation system. This means we expect every eJumper to behave in a way that facilitates an outstanding experience for the rest of the team, while also being a valuable team member. We expect every eJumper to display respect at all times, to be enthusiastic about their work and to communicate often and in an efficient manner.

This also means that we take the responsibility to create an environment that is fertile for such behaviors. How?

  • Feedback is encouraged at all times (no exceptions).
  • Internal trainings (for both for soft and hard skills) take place regularly.
  • Technical knowledge building and sharing is encouraged.
  • Regular 1to1 meetings take place in which everyone can make sure they know where they’re headed to and can agree upon the next steps.
  • Communication and transparency are encouraged by a transparent management style.
  • Monthly meetings are held and they are an opportunity for us to analyze to what extent we’ve lived up to our values in the past month (the quality of the projects, behavior toward our clients, behavior toward our team). They are also part of the rituals that we undertake and that allow us to continuously improve ourselves.
  • We often provide opportunities for team members to acquire project management skills and also support them during the pilot projects.

And we’re always ready to change or adapt if needed and if it allows us to jump to the next level. After all, the learning process is never-ending, right?

For the Web Designer and Web Developer roles – for which we are always looking for interesting candidates – the hiring processes look very similar:

  • It all starts with either us approaching you on LinkedIn or other platforms or with you approaching us by email, other platforms or during an event.
  • If both parties (you and us) agree there might be some potential for doing outstanding work together, we carefully asses your resume and your portfolio.
  • Then, we invite you to a friendly live interview. This is usually with two of us eJumpers and we are interested in both your technical and personal skills.
  • If the interview goes well, we send you a homework and a deadline.
  • If the homework looks good, we invite you for a final discussion to set the details of our collaboration.

Other roles might have slightly different recruitment processes, which will be detailed when necessary.
