CKE Community

Chinook Park, Kelvin Grove and Eagle Ridge are three southwest communities. Chinook Park was developed in 1959, Eagle Ridge in 1960 and Kelvin Grove in the 1960s. The area is well connected to Calgary’s major roadways, including Glenmore Trail, Crowchild Trail and 14th Street. The LRT is also nearby. CKE Community Association strives to build a community which nurtures belonging and motivates its residents to become involved: fostering a proud, safe, energetic, inclusive and connected community.

This is another web design and WordPress implementation challenge we took on after winning the client’s design contest on 99designs.

For this CKE Community web project, we had to create a really cool look and have a friendly approach to enhance the client’s core values and this idea of sharing and community which stands as a pillar for their long-term goals. People’s mission at CKE Community needed to be easily understood by users who had to be somehow inspired and allured to involve and participate at this civic movement, while finding and sharing useful information for locals. The web designs and the look and feel of the website reflect the flexibility and exactly this “movement” vibe, which inspires people to grow and share their resources for a better and, of course, bigger community.

Our coders implemented the project on WordPress, which allows the client to easily administrate the platform and its content without hassle. This way, he can add and create different pages with content. At the moment, there are dedicated pages for different activities of the community, an updated calendar, information about traffic in community area and other news related to the local people.
