The challenge: total redesign and implementation of a complex online bookstore with thousands of products and various functionalities
We’re all so proud to collaborate with such an important bookseller in Romania for such a long time! In 2019, the Litera team decided to go big and planned a total redesign and implementation for their bookshop. Being a large e-commerce platform developed with Magento, offering thousands of books and collections from prestigious publishers in Romania, the project development was complex and well-thought to ensure that the entire user experience and buying process go as smooth and simple as possible.
The goal was to create the cleanest design ever, making sure to instantly offer a clear overview of the most relevant book products and the best steps in the buyer’s journey. In short, our design and development team had to focus on a modern UI and UX, showcasing the beauty of each book category and the right amount of information to attract users to buy their favorite author’s works the simplest way.
Being a one-stop-shop for web design and development services, we handled the Magento implementation part as well. Our team simplified the checkout steps as the client requested, kept the best functionalities from the old website, and focused on bringing the products into the spotlight – without cluttering the page designs.
We also handled the website responsiveness, given the large percentage of people choosing mobile buying experiences, in general.
The results: a clean, minimalistic & super-intuitive e-commerce platform
The redesign and implementation work aimed for a minimalistic look & feel, using a lovely contrast between a lot of white space high-quality, beautifully colored book covers, best fonts and relevant CTA buttons to maximize conversions and guide users through the pages they want. The buying experience is vastly improved and works much more smoothly to help customers get what they want: the best books they want to improve their life, enjoy amazing stories, relax and get more inspired.
