Most people hate paperwork. And cars, on top of fuel and insurance costs, involve a lot of it. GT Motive decided to develop an app aimed at saving car owners in Romania useless trips to various public institutions. The app, called CarFix, allowed users to notify or assess insurance claims in case of accidents, to manage payments, due dates and car documents with just a few taps. Anything that previously involved never-ending trips to various physical offices would be now easily accessible on a mobile phone. The importance of the app’s concept cannot be understated, especially in a country with a poor road safety track-record such as Romania. With many people having to deal with the stress of a road incident at least once, being able to file a claim straight from a mobile app at least helps reduce some of the stress and lost time.
Contracted to develop the app itself with the aid of a few pre-existing designs, eJump decided to prioritize ease of use both for the UX and the back-end management component. The team used React to create an app that was useable on both Android and iOS platforms. Integrating the use of public services such as the RAR (Romanian Automotive Register) and features such as Optical character recognition added extra layers of complexity, but the eJump team got things done.
Great communication between eJump and GT Motive helped our team get the job done, however, and today the app is fully functioning and making life easier for drivers across the country. The CarFix app is available on mobile devices, and eJump continues to work with GT Motive to ensure ongoing, smooth operation.
