When one of Romania's most beloved reality shows decides to go digital, the stakes are high. Antena Play came to us with an ambitious idea: turn the emotional rollercoaster of Insula Iubirii into an interactive mobile game that fans could carry in their pocket. The result is a narrative-driven experience that puts players right in the middle of the island's drama - making choices, feeling the tension and living the story firsthand.
Developed in direct collaboration with Antena Play, the game is available on iOS and Android and built entirely in React with TypeScript. Players choose their path from the start: step into the shoes of a couple fighting to keep their relationship intact, or play as a tempter, testing the limits of everyone around them. From there, the story unfolds through a series of choices and scenarios that mirror the rhythm of the show - morning conversations, romantic encounters and high-tension bonfire moments.
No account, no login, no friction. The game is designed to be picked up instantly, making it as accessible as the show itself. A standout technical feature is the use of Rive (.riv) files for all in-game animations. Rather than relying on heavy video assets, animations are driven by real-time parameter changes - keeping the experience visually rich and fluid without compromising performance on mobile devices. The overall art direction reinforces this - with detailed character illustrations, a polished UI and a visual identity that feels closer to a high-end interactive story than a typical licensed mobile game. It's the kind of app players notice before they even make their first choice.
